bought this book - not having read an historical novel for many years I was surprised how soon I started enjoying the book......fiction or not, I enjoyed it. Has pbeen passed onto daughter Sam
Pinched from Mum to give me a break from Gormenghast.
I'm still slugging my way through Gormenghast, while reading various other books which don't give me quite so much of a headache, but I finished this off ages ago and have just been putting off writing it up.
The main thing I'll say after reading this is that I'm glad I only have a brother. I know women can be vicious cats to each other, but Anne Boleyn takes it to a whole other level. I'd like to think she'd have seen the business end of my hockey stick numerous times had I had to grow up with her.
I've seen since there's a sequel of sorts, and I am slightly intrigued by it, because there are a few loose ends regarding Mary's children, and I'd like to know if they're resolved.
