The plot
Crowley and Aziraphale have been in the world since the beginning. In fact they've even been in the Eden itself.
And when an angel and a devil spend so much time in the human world, the end up to realize they have much more in common with each the other than with their own people.
So their point of view about Armageddon is quite the same.
Their main problem is that the Antichrist has appeared but they do not know where. None has.
Well, you could know if you had the only copy of The Nice and Accurate Profecies of Agnes Nutter -which are really too accurate to make any sense- but that's not an easy book to get, you know.
But the Four Hoursemen of the Apocalipsis are already ready to ride, and they do no wait for anyone...

This book is not hilarious. Not the kind of book that will make you roll over the floor laughting like a madman.
And this book is not sinister. The background may be, but it's too funny to let the reader be concious of those points of dark style.
It's just full of odd characters, funny situations and surrealistic footnotes in a quite amusing story about the end of the world, so you are quite uncertain about what's going on.
That's the main strength of the whole book. Not all the jokes nor the Armageddon, but the fact that even if you knew everything it would not make much sense. And even if it's quite predictable, you did not expect half of it.

Acabé de leerlo hace un par de semanas, y lo entregué en mano a Azull77, pero hasta ahora no he tenido tiempo de escribir...qué malo es trabajar tanto! :P
De los que he leído de Terry Pratchett quizá sea el que menos me ha gustado, principalmente debido al final que se me hace un poco simple para el argumento tan original que tiene el libro, aunque el epílogo sí que me ha gustado. También ha influído el que me haya costado trabajo leerlo...creo que mi inglés empeora :(

Efectivamente me lo pasó en mano N1vea hace un par de semanas, pero hasta ayer no empecé a leerlo... Procuraré no tardar mucho, espero que el inglés no me resulte muy complicado!
Acabé de leerlo hace unos días pero con los viajes de trabajo no había podido escribir hasta ahora!.
Lo primero, que siento muchiiiiisimo el retraso :( La verdad es que el libro se me ha atrancado un poco, supongo que por la falta de costumbre de leer en inglés. El argumento me parece muy original y me ha gustado como nos hace llegar con todos los personajes hasta el final del libro. Conclusión: me ha costado leerlo pero lo he disfrutado.
Ahora me pongo en contacto con Dosty para pedirle la dirección.
