2004 Anchor trade paperback of the 2003 futuristic tale of a lonely survivor missing his best friend Crake and their common love Oryx, in a post-plague great city turned wildness after uncontrolled corporate genetic engineering. This was on my list of best modern books to read when I found this good condition copy this week in the Joaquin Little Free Library in San Leandro.

I can let this go after I read:
1964 The War in the Bathroom (short story) [read 2018]
1972 Surfacing [read 2024]
1983 Bluebeard's Egg and Other Stories [read 2021]
1983 Happy Endings (short story) [read 2021]
1985 The Handmaid's Tale [read 2021]
1988 Cat's Eye [read 2021]
1989 Reading Blind [read 2021]
1993 The Robber Bride [read 2022]
1994 Good Bones and Simple Murders [read 2023]
1994 Gertrude Talks Back (short story) [read 2023]
2000 The Blind Assassin [read 2020]

Edit May 8, 2024: This was good, but I just skimmed to end for time. It runs a bit long. I currently have this ranked at #3599 on my ranked list of best-read books lately.

Aside from loving shared books, my main passion in life is supporting the human rights work of my good friend, Anni Cyrus. 💖 💖 Her life story of survival as a childhood refugee is astounding, and quite moving!

Please tune in to her many warnings to help the rest of us avoid the same fate she suffered under: Searchable on Google, DuckDuckGo, and YouTube. You can also follow her on Facebook and Telegram, among other platforms.
