I got this softcover from an online seller, in part for its handsome "Dragon Press" logo. It's about the author's parents - her father, born in China but to a German family, and her mother, a Chinese girl reared in boarding schools - and their love affair, that began in post-WWII China. The book features timestreams for each parent, with digressions into other relationships, families and friends - and with a structure that seems part diary/timeline and part genealogical-tree. There are plenty of tidbits about the politics, culture, and entertainment of their times, but sometimes you have to dig through some "wait, who was Uncle so-and-so again?" bits {wry grin}.
